Filed Report: Thelma's Story
Teresa is the mother of Michael and Thelma Mauel. Teresa has 2 children. She was sick for 10 years prior to having Thelma. After delivery, she had trouble with her milk and did not produce enough to nurse her baby. She tried to keep her baby alive by giving her cornmeal and water.
Thelma was brought into the Tessa Grace nutrition center at 4months and weighed 3kg (6.6 lbs) At Tessa Grace she received the appropriate formula and she is gradually gaining weight. Today the baby weighs 7lbs. (Normal weight would be 11-16lbs) With consistent care we hope to rescue Thelma's life and bring her to a place of normal development. The past few weeks, she has been in the hospital due to malaria, fever, headache and weakness. Please pray that Thelma.
The Freds Summer Highlights.
We just had a wonderful women's retreat close to Starved Rock. I am always so awed when you prepare something that feels like little loaves and fishes, and then God does something amazing. Shiloah ( our youngest-16) had it in her heart to hand-make a bookmark for each woman. They ended up being little works of art with a profound thought on it that she received from the Lord as she was working on it. They were special, and so is she:)
I had a fantastic time with Tehillah (our oldest-20) before dropping her off at U of M. We got ourselves some honest to goodness walking sticks and hiked the Tahquamenon Fall State Park. It was so beautiful...despite the fact that our row boat had one defective oar and we spent a lot of time trying to approach the island in spite of spinning in circles. I confess: On our return we swiped someone else's boat and wished them better luck:)
Jesh is leaving for YWAM, Colorado on September 27th! I'm sure by now that I should be getting used to the empty nest thing, but the truth is that each kid leaves their own hole at home. Jeshua fills the house with worship day and night. I'm going to miss that!
Below are some of our Summer Pictures. Enjoy!

Vaction with Tehillah: excellent White Fish & Chips at the Fishing Hole, Michigan

Couldn't pass an artistic moment

We felt so official with those sticks:)

Wish you were there...

The river bends around several little islands.

That boat brought us nowhere FAST!

We went to the end of the earth: Sunset in Paradise, Lake Superior

So glad we came...

Did I mention that Tehillah is a dancer?

I am the Mom. Sometimes its better not to look:)

All creation raise their hands in worship.

Sunset in Saugatuck

Finally Shiloah joined us for the final good-bye.

Another summer highlight: Shiloah turned 16 and had a date with her Dad....the ritual of the giving of the purity ring.

I don't remember growing older. When did they??

Then again...she's still our little girl:)

And here is the handsome lad, Jeshua, on his 19th birtday...also this summer.

Playing on the Piñata didn't work so well:)

Why is it so hard to get a picture of the whole family at the same time? This was taken last June during Jeshua's graduation from High School.
